Travel Bursaries 2024/5

The Reynolds Foundation awards bursaries to young artists to help them develop their professional skills and to support their early careers. In particular, but certainly not exclusively, the Foundation is keen to help with attendance at summer school courses (or their equivalent), and with learning/professional projects that involve travel. The maximum amount that will be awarded to one individual is 7500 EUR.

HOW TO APPLY AND STEPS:

Contact the Foundation at becastrf@gmail.com before the 31st October, providing:

  • Prepare Your Art Portfolio: Gather a collection of your best artwork that represents your artistic abilities and interests. Include a variety of pieces, such as paintings, drawings, sculptures, or digital art. This portfolio will showcase your talent and creativity.

  • Provide an Artistic Statement: Alongside your portfolio, write a short statement (around 200-300 words) that explains your passion for art, your artistic goals, and why attending an art course abroad is crucial to your artistic journey. Share your inspirations, artistic influences, and what you hope to achieve through this opportunity.

  • Craft a Travel Proposal: In your travel proposal, outline your plans for attending an art course abroad. Mention the destination you have in mind, the specific art course or program you wish to enroll in, and how this experience will benefit your artistic growth. Explain why you need financial support and how the bursary will make this opportunity possible.

  • Budget and Itinerary: Create a detailed budget and itinerary that estimates the costs associated with your travel plans. Include expenses such as transportation, accommodation, course fees, art supplies, and any additional costs. This will demonstrate your understanding of the financial aspects involved.

  • Submit Your Application: Compile your art portfolio, artistic statement, travel proposal, budget and itinerary, and personal statement into a single application package. Follow the instructions provided by the foundation and submit your application by the specified deadline.

  • Evaluation and Selection: A panel of experts will review the applications based on the quality of your artwork, the coherence of your travel proposal, and your potential for growth. The selection process will be fair and unbiased, ensuring equal consideration for all applicants.

  • Notification: Once the evaluation process is complete, successful applicants will be notified of their selection. They will receive further instructions on how to proceed, including the disbursement of funds and any necessary documentation.

Remember to approach the application process with enthusiasm and authenticity, allowing your passion for art to shine through. The Foundation Bursary for Art Course Travel is designed to support talented artists like you, and this opportunity could be a significant stepping stone in your artistic journey. Good luck!
